Former chairman and captain
Dear Patron Eliud Owalo, We, the Gor Mahia Legends, wish to express our heartfelt appreciation for your unwavering support and kindness to the family of our beloved former Captain, Austin Oduor. From the day he passed on last year to this very day of his 1st Anniversary, your generosity and compassion have been a beacon of hope and comfort. We are particularly grateful for the kind gesture you showed today by donating two sets of uniforms and 4 footballs ⚽ to the local teams in the Makunga area, associating the legends with this noble act. Your history with Gor Mahia Legends is long-standing, and we acknowledge the immense efforts you've made to elevate the lives of legends, not only in Gor Mahia FC Legends Welfare but also in many community clubs across Kenya. Your advocacy for the resurgence of community clubs in Kenya has not gone unnoticed, and we appreciate your tireless efforts. Please accept this message as a token of our gratitude. We hope that the challenge thrown by the AFC Leopards Legends for a rematch against Gor Mahia Legends will become a reality, giving fans of both teams the opportunity to witness these legends in action once more. Thank you, Patron, and may God bless you abundantly. Warm regards,
Gor Mahia legends mourns Pamzo's wife
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that the entire Gor Mahia Legends fraternity & management extends its deepest and most heartfelt condolences to our respected and beloved legend Sammy "Pamzo" Omollo and his family during this incredibly difficult time. The news of the passing of his cherished wife, Vera Omollo, fondly known to all as "Mama Denzel," has sent shockwaves through our community. Vera, a pillar of strength and support for Coach Pamzo and her family, tragically succumbed to a short illness on Monday morning, December 1st, at Nairobi Sholastica Hospital, where she was undergoing treatment. Her passing leaves a void that words cannot adequately fill. "Mama Denzel" was a kind and warm soul whose presence brought light and comfort to those around her. She was a dedicated wife and mother, and her unwavering support for her family, especially during the demanding life of a professional football coach, did not go unnoticed by the community she touched. The Gor Mahia legends, many of whom have shared countless moments and challenges with Coach Pamzo, stand united in their grief and offer their support and prayers to him and his children, Denzel, during this period of immense sorrow. We mourn the loss of a remarkable woman and pray for strength and solace for Coach Pamzo Omollo and his entire family as they navigate this painful journey. Funeral preparations are currently underway. The family requests privacy and prayers as they process this devastating loss May Vera Omollo's soul rest in eternal peace.
Gor Mahia legends mourns Mzee Makachia
It is with a heavy heart and a shared sense of loss that the entire Gor Mahia fraternity pays tribute to the life of the late Mzee Makachia, a renowned football player in his own right, and the beloved father of Gor Mahia legend Felix Makachia. Mzee Makachia, as he was fondly known, passed away recently, leaving behind a legacy of passion, dedication, and exemplary guidance to his children. He was a man who led his life with distinction, both on and off the field, and his spirit will forever resonate within the hearts of those who knew him. The burial ceremony took place at Mulinya Village in Kakamega on November 8th 2025. The event brought together family, friends, and members of the football community to bid farewell to a respected figure who had touched many lives. To Felix and the entire Makachia family, the Gor Mahia legends and management extend their deepest condolences. We understand the profound impact of losing a parent and mentor of such stature. Mzee Makachia will be dearly missed, not only as a father figure but also as a guiding light who instilled the values of discipline and passion for the beautiful game. We wish Felix and his family strength, comfort, and good health as they navigate this period of mourning. May Mzee Makachia’s soul rest in eternal peace, and may his legacy continue to inspire generations to come. Felix Makachia, who currently resides in the USA
